ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation in a non-profit organization formed in 1997 to support CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and the lives of the patients we serve. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation supports innovative health care, as well as medical services for the uninsured and the underinsured at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospitals in the South Texas Medical Center, at Westover Hills, and in New Braunfels. This means that all patients who enter our doors have the opportunity to experience unmatched medical care from award-winning physicians and medical staff.
Women's Health, Adult, and Family Services
EBMM at CSRH - New Braunfels provides mother and baby with an in-home visit by a registered nurse following the days of delivery; providing parenting education and a medical assessment for mother and baby. EBMM strives to give parents the tools they need to allow babies to strive in strong, healthy families.
The largest gift from the Friends Foundation to date benefited the purchase and installation of the Cardiac Cath lab at CSRH - Westover Hills. The lab is equipped with two state-of-the-art rooms, allowing heart and vessel imaging, special procedures, studies, and treatments. We support healthy hearts and providing the best cardiac care to our patients.
The Family Health Center at CSRH - Westover Hills provides comprehensive family health services for all ages to more than 10,000 patients each year (of which 55 percent are uninsured or underinsured). Through philanthropic support, funding is provided for the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment, as well as clinical operational support.
The FHC is also the classroom for the Family Medicine Residency Program, which accpets nine residents, who are competitively chosen out of approximately 1,000 applicants each year.
The Friends Foundation is an active partner in the mission to bring life-saving mammograms and excellent breast health care to all women, regardless of their ability to pay. Learn more about the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Mobile Mammography Unit here.
Support from our donors provides resources that directly benefit senior-centered care and environment for the more than 12,000 seniors cared for each year in the CSRH - Medical Center Emergency Department.
Through the Hazel and Fred Kingman Endowment, the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit at CSRH - Medical Center underwent much-needed renovations to become the Orthopedics and Neurosciences Center and the Hazel and Fred Kingman Education and Conference Center.
CSRH - MC specializes in care for seniors throughout all units and specialties, now called ACE Without Walls.
The Friends Foundation generates philanthropic support through charitable gifts and grants from board members, community constituents and associates. Ongoing fundraising and annual philanthropic support is essential for us to meet the needs of those seeking medical care at our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa facilities. Support our mission here.
